About this training
John DeRoulet, Head of Revenue Management Education at Wheelhouse, introduces a major new addition for developers and builders working with the Wheelhouse Revenue Managers API (RM API): webhooks. Instead of relying purely on scheduled polling to keep your BI tools, software, or automations in sync with Wheelhouse, webhooks let Wheelhouse notify your system directly the moment something changes.
In this video, John breaks down the three webhook events now available: recommendations updated (new pricing has been posted), reservations ingested (fresh bookings have come in for a listing), and flags updated (a listing's status flags have changed). He also covers how these events are secured with a verifiable secret, and how batching webhook notifications helps you cut down on unnecessary API calls and stay well under your rate limits — all while keeping your data as close to real-time as possible.
If you're building a custom BI tool, automation, or software platform on top of Wheelhouse, this is a big step toward keeping your data live and efficient.
