L.A. Comic Con gives Los Angeles, California, a weekend-long calendar anchor, but should hosts treat its closing Sunday like the preceding nights? Thursday, Oct 29, offers a telling comparison with Sunday, Nov 1, even before the convention begins.
Comic Con’s closing Sunday has lower citywide Booked Occupancy than Thursday in Los Angeles. For stays October 26, 2026–November 1, 2026, Wheelhouse data as of October 19, 2026 shows Booked Occupancy of 19.6% on Sunday, November 1, 2026, versus 24.0% on Thursday, October 29, 2026. These figures measure the share of nights already reserved, not final Occupancy or booking growth.
Wheelhouse data shows Friday’s Booked Occupancy of 29.0% and Saturday’s 28.5% both exceed Comic Con’s closing Sunday.
The convention calendar does not explain Sunday’s position
L.A. Comic Con is scheduled at the Los Angeles Convention Center for October 30, 2026–November 1, 2026. Within the analyzed stay window of October 26, 2026–November 1, 2026, its closing Sunday sits below not just Friday and Saturday, but also the Thursday before opening.
Sunday is not an empty-calendar night. Gloria Molina Grand Park also lists its Noche de los Muertos closing celebration for November 1, 2026. That makes Sunday’s position worth attention: scheduled activity alone is not enough to assume a night will have higher Booked Occupancy.
The observation supports distinguishing Sunday from the preceding nights, rather than assigning the entire convention weekend the same demand story. It does not show that either event caused the differences. Weekday patterns remain a competing explanation, and Sunday has more time remaining until arrival than Thursday. Neither point supplies a forecast of where those dates will finish.

Does your Sunday calendar support the same distinction?
Start with comparable-property context. In Wheelhouse Dynamic Sets, build a relevant group of rental listings and inspect the actual dates from Oct 29 through Nov 1. Look for whether Sunday also has lower Booked Occupancy among properties that meaningfully compete with yours; the citywide view is a starting point, not a property benchmark.
Then use Wheelhouse Performance Analytics alongside your calendar records to investigate your own bookings. Keep that task separate from the comparable-listing review: inspect Sunday’s reservations and available nights, accounting for cancellations and owner blocks so a change in eligible nights is not mistaken for a booking difference. Where comparable records exist, compare each date with its own same-weekday history at matching time remaining until arrival—not Thursday directly with a historical Sunday.
Sunday is the date to investigate first, not an automatic candidate for a discount. If relevant comparables and your own Sunday records also show lower Booked Occupancy against appropriate references, that would support examining Sunday’s rate and stay restrictions separately. If your Sunday is well reserved against those references, the citywide gap is not a reason to change it.
