San Diego: Friday tops Halloween’s Booked Occupancy (Oct 26–Nov 1, 2026)
San Diego short-term rentals for Oct 26–Nov 1, 2026: Friday leads Halloween in Booked Occupancy, while local Halloween programming begins before Saturday.
Updated October 20, 2026
Halloween puts Saturday at the center of the calendar in San Diego, California. For rental operators reviewing Oct 26–Nov 1, 2026, however, the holiday label alone is not enough to decide which night merits the most attention.
Friday, not Halloween Saturday, has the highest Booked Occupancy in San Diego for October 26, 2026–November 1, 2026. Wheelhouse data as of October 15, 2026 shows citywide Booked Occupancy of 23.8% on October 30, 2026, versus 23.3% on October 31, 2026. These percentages describe the share of nights already reserved, not final Occupancy or booking growth.
Wheelhouse data shows Friday ahead of Halloween Saturday in both Booked Occupancy and Asking Rate.
Halloween programming starts before Saturday
San Diego’s seasonal calendar gives Friday its own context. The City Parks & Recreation calendar lists Fall Fun Fest at Carmel Valley Recreation Center on Oct 28 and Halloween Haunt at Stockton Recreation Center on Oct 30. Halloween-related activity is not confined to the holiday itself.
But an event on the calendar is not a booking signal by itself. Wednesday, Oct 28, has Booked Occupancy of 17.2%, despite its scheduled festivities. The calendar helps explain why operators should examine dates before Saturday; it does not explain Friday’s lead or measure overnight demand from these programs. The citywide observation supports considering Friday and Halloween together, rather than giving Saturday priority simply because it is the holiday.

Friday also has the higher Asking Rate
The advertised-price ranking follows the Booked Occupancy ranking: Friday, Oct 30, has an Asking Rate of $455, compared with $453 on Halloween Saturday, Oct 31. Asking Rate is the advertised nightly price including fees, not achieved ADR. There is no observed Halloween price lead to pair with the holiday’s calendar prominence.
That makes the practical question whether your rentals support treating these dates differently—not whether Halloween automatically warrants a premium. Saturday has more time remaining until arrival than Friday, but that fact alone does not explain their ordering. The accompanying October 2025 chart describes last year’s listing-average lead times; it cannot tell you how much booking remains for either night.

Does your own calendar favor Halloween?
Use Wheelhouse Dynamic Sets to assemble appropriate comparable rentals and inspect their pricing context for Oct 30 and Oct 31. Look for whether comparable properties also advertise Friday above Saturday, rather than treating the citywide Asking Rate as a target for your property.
Separately, use Wheelhouse Performance Analytics to examine your own confirmed bookings and pickup for those dates. Where comparable historical records exist, assess each date against its own same-weekday reference at matching time remaining until arrival. Keep eligible nights consistent and account for cancellations and blocks. Friday-versus-Saturday differences remain a competing explanation when comparing the dates directly.
Keep Friday in the Halloween-weekend review rather than letting the holiday dominate it. If appropriate comparables and your own booking records favor Saturday instead, that would support shifting attention toward Halloween. Otherwise, the evidence supports reviewing the dates together, without assuming a holiday premium.
